Exploring local businesses and events in and around Central Texas.
My name is Jan Daum.
Whether you are buying, selling, or relocating entirely, I bring a positive, easy-going, friendly helping-hand to what can be an overwhelming process. My goal is to make this the best experience for you, and to match you with your perfect home!
I am blessed to serve Central Texas as a real estate professional. I love the hometown feel we have, and it’s my pleasure to share that and make it your hometown, too.
I was getting some quality retail therapy time on the square recently, and it hit me–that afternoon slump that can only mean it’s coffee time!
Luckily, I was right near Cianfrani Coffee Company.
It’s such a quaint, inviting coffeehouse. It has artwork displays, tons of comfy seating, lots of clever coffee cups for gifts, a great selection of deli offerings, pastries, and the heavenly aroma of delicious coffee hanging in the air.
It’s a popular place, so I waited a moment or two to place my order. That gave me time to peruse all the delicious pastries, and the enormous coffee cup selection.
It took some thinking, but I finally decided on a super strong coffee called a Cardiac Arrest. It’s a double shot of espresso with regular coffee. Not for the faint of heart, obviously.
And to round that jumpstart off, I sat down to enjoy some music, and an incredibly delicate blueberry scone.
Oh, and Cianfrani has a beautiful view of the Williamson County Courthouse. Perfect for people watching. Great coffee, relaxing atmosphere, gorgeous view of the most beautiful town square in Texas. Definitely a place to frequent.
I may have to go back this week just to try the muffins….
If you are searching for Old World Vineyard style with Old Town flair, this is the place.
Georgetown Winery, a beautiful store nestled on S Main Street, offers much more than just wine. They have wine related gifts, teas, and a huge selection of balsamic vinegars and olive oils. So you don’t have to love wine to enjoy it here. But it helps.
Now here is what I came here for. They have an incredible selection of balsamic vinegars, as well as a wall of olive oils. All are available to taste. And believe me, you won’t be sorry. There are some incredible flavors! The chipotle olive oil, and maple balsamic were my pics for the day. (With a huge list of future ones to bring home!)
So many to try, it’s hard to pick just one!
But if you are here to enjoy the wine, and aren’t sure what you’re looking for, the friendly staff will help you select just the right wine for tasting. And their wines are unique and striking. You may want to linger a bit.
It’s a lovely place for a glass with friends, or even alone with a book. You can buy a single glass, or a tasting flight. They also offer cheese trays and other assorted snacks.
And if you want to bring the experience home with you, they have a great wine club!
Coming through the door is like leaving the world behind and entering something from a more elegant era. And with all they have to offer, it’s worth taking time to take your time.
Georgetown Winery is located at 715 S Main Street.
