Perched at 109 W 7th Street inside the historic block that once housed Gold’s Department Store, Gold Burger Diner captures the nostalgic soul of downtown Georgetown in every bite. Since its grand opening on July 12, 2024, the diner has honored the legacy of Harry Gold — Georgetown’s beloved retailer known for community kindness — while injecting modern energy into the Square.
A Tribute to Heritage with a Flavorful Twist
Co‑owner Cody Hirt explained that the diner’s name and location pay homage to Harry Gold’s long‑standing department store, which operated on the same corner from 1936 to 1996. Gold was celebrated for helping local families, and that spirit of care defines the diner’s mission today.
“Burger Lovers’ Paradise”
The Gold Standard Burger is a standout — juicy, flavorful, and reliably beloved. Additional favorites include the Dirty Burger, Blue and Gold, Jamones, mushroom Swiss, a build your own burger option, and a veggie burger for plant based visitors.
“Tiny Sliders, Big Flavor”
Order classic sliders a la carte—perfect for snacking or sharing.
Retro Vibes, Welcoming Ambiance
“Step Back in Time—With Modern Comfort”
Expect vintage décor: a jukebox, a 35¢ Dr Pepper machine, cozy booths, counter seating, and plenty of extra charm from 60s 80s music softly playing in the background. The diner has a moderate noise level—lively but relaxed—making it ideal for family meals or casual hangouts.
“Friendly Team, Seamless Service”
Guests report attentive staff, fast kitchen service, and smiles all around — whether you’re seated at a booth or the counter.
