Lighting of the Square

Come experience the magic as we kick-off the holiday season with the Annual Lighting of the Square, traditionally held at 5:30 p.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving! Sing along with the Austin Carolers to your favorite holiday tunes! Join Georgetown Mayor Dale Ross as we help Santa countdown and flip on the holiday lights on The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas! The downtown shops will be open late, so plan to get in some unique holiday shopping. This is a free event. You can have your photo taken with Santa inside the courthouse from 6:30 – 8 p.m. (photo fee proceeds benefit Brown Santa Program).
U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree in Georgetown
Mark your calendars! The national Christmas Tree will be making a stop in Georgetown this November.
On Sunday, November 17, the City of Georgetown will be hosting an event that brings not only the tree but Santa and two of his reindeer pulling his antique sleigh. This historic event in the Square will be a brief one hour stop and will be an exciting event that you will not want to miss!
The national tree, that is 60 feet tall, will make its journey from New Mexico to the Capitol and will kick off the official tree lighting ceremony in early December. There are only 5 stops in Texas and Georgetown has the privilege of being one of those stops. You can track the progress on this tracking website: https://www.capitoltreetracker.com/
The tree will be parked on Main, between 7th & 8th from 4pm – 5pm. The celebration will start at 2pm so come on down and enjoy the celebration!

Field of Honor

The Field of Honor® is a dramatic, emotion-filled display of 1500+ full-size, 3′ x 5′ US flags.
In its THIRD year, the Rotary Club of Georgetown’s signature event will present over 1,500 flags that will take your breath away. Each flag is available for purchase and dedication in honor of a veteran, active or reserve duty military individual or first responder. This tribute exemplifies the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” The exciting events held throughout the week are open to the public from November 9th through November 17th! The proceeds from the 2019 Field of Honor FLAG SALES will directly benefit veteran and first responder organizations that address suicide prevention, PTSD, and support veterans and 1st responder families.

2019 Annual Turkey Trot

It’s that time of year again, we are excited to announce the third annual Fleet Feet Round Rock Turkey Trot with the help of the City of Round Rock and the Parks and Recreation Department. Challenge your family, friends, and co-workers to come out and run on the roads and trails through the scenic and historic Old Settlers Park. The race will feature an untimed 5-mile and 2-mile run/walk. There will be sponsor booths, refreshments, and finishers medals!

Music on Main is an annual tradition where families and friends gather Downtown on beautiful spring nights to hear good music and relax under the Texas sky.
